The Welcome Mural

November 2011: new addition to the Welcome Mural, a tree and river replace a door and telephone booth.

The Welcome Mural was painted in the winter of 2008-2009, and added to in 2010. Commissioned by the Edward M. Kennedy Community Health Center, it incorporated an image of the Health Center and the word welcome in the more than 30 languages spoken by the staff and patients of the center. More than 60 people attended workshops to create the words and imagery and participated in painting the mural under the direction of Susan J. Champeny.
